Abstract
Shear-wave elastography is used to calculate viscoelasticity and other mechanical properties of soft tissues. The high computational costs of calculating the wavenumber using Fourier transforms limits its real-time implementation. This study proposes a low-complexity algorithm that combines angular spectrum and local phase gradient estimator to find the wavenumber, resulting in accurate viscoelasticity maps. Validation experiments and comparisons with state-of-the-art techniques prove the method's efficacy, with lower computational complexity and potential for real-time elastography applications.
